Roasted Cauliflower with Cumin
A wholesome menopause mezze dish
Don’t write off the humble cauliflower as being a colourless and tasteless vegetable. Its health benefits for us menopausal mama’s are massive.
Cauliflower is not only low in calories, it’s rich in the antioxidant vitamin C, your body needs for tissue repair. It’s also necessary for the formation of collagen, a protein that protects your bones and joints from inflammatory damage. Also chock-full of vitamin K, which helps bone health. Finally, it’s a great source of choline, a B vitamin, that together with phosphorus supports memory function.
Combine this flavoursome cauliflower dish with other mezze dishes and you’ve got a menopause melange of tasty goodness.
Serve along with our baked aubergine salad and dips.

Method
Preheat the oven 180 degrees (fan oven)
Roast the cauliflower (with some small leaves still attached if desired) with a little oil, salt and pepper for about 30 min, or until golden brown.
While the cauliflower is cooking, make the dressing by crushing the garlic and salt in a pestle and mortar, adding the olive oil, lemon juice and cumin, and whisk everything together.
Pour the dressing on the roasted cauliflower, toss and sprinkle with parsley and almonds to serve.
